News

A year ago NS passed legislation banning the sale of cosmetic pesticides for lawn care. Some pesticides while banned for cosmetic use are allowed to be purchased for other specified uses. A list of these pesticides can be found at:http://www.gov.ns.ca/nse/pests/docs/Non-Essential-Controlled.Purchase.pdf

The sale and use of pesticides not on the list were prohibited for use on lawns as of April 1, 2011. The legislation, as of April 1 2012, will now include ornamental shrubs, flowers and trees.
